Install guide

Installing a stretched bar display.

A stretched bar is long and shallow, so it shows any tilt. Level matters more than on a standard screen, and the cable exit should sit behind it.

Time
About 30 to 45 minutes
People
Two people, to hold it level while it seats
Steps

A strip of ceiling-hung wide screens above a counter, showing happy hour, coffee, lunch menu and a landscape scene.
Example application. The screen pictured may be another model.

What you need

  • The display and its bracket
  • A long level or a laser level
  • A drill and bits for your wall
  • Fixings rated for the display weight on its spec sheet
  • A screwdriver set
  • Power at the screen position
  • A USB stick or microSD card, whichever your model takes, with your first content

Before you start

  1. A bar is often mounted over a counter, along a shelf edge or above a door. Check the fixing surface along the whole length, not only at the middle.
  2. Content for a bar has its own shape. Make the artwork at the screen resolution on its spec sheet, not a cropped 16:9 picture.
  3. Keep the vents clear and leave space behind for the cables.

Install film

Watch it once, then follow the steps.

3D animation from the product CAD, sample artwork, for the 37 in stretched bar display. No sound; each step is written out under the film, and pressing one plays from there.

  1. 01

    Mark the holes

Hold the bracket level on the wall where the screen will hang and mark its screw holes.

  2. 02

    Drill and fit anchors

Drill at each mark and push in wall anchors that suit your wall.

  3. 03

    Fix the bracket

Screw the bracket to the wall through the anchors, then check it is level.

  4. 04

    Run the cable

Bring the power cable to the bracket, and a network cable if you use one.

  5. 05

    Add your content

Before you hang it, insert the SD card or USB stick with your pictures and videos.

  6. 06

    Connect and hang

Plug the cable into the display, then lower the display onto the bracket.

  7. 07

    Check it is seated

Make sure the display sits flat and fully down on the bracket before you let go.

  8. 08

    Power on

Switch on the power and the screen lights up.

Step 1 of 5

37 in stretched bar display, from its CAD. Other models in this guide follow the same steps.

  1. 01

    Mark and level

Hold the bracket in place, level it across its full length and mark the holes.

  2. 02

    Fix the bracket

Drill and fix the bracket. Check the level again once it is tight.

  3. 03

    Connect the cables

Connect power and, if used, the network cable at the rear before lifting.

  4. 04

    Hang it

With one person at each end, lift the bar onto the bracket and lower it until it seats. Check both ends are seated.

  5. 05

    Power on and load content

Switch on, insert the card or stick with your content and start the show.

First power-on

Check five things before you leave it.

  1. It shows a pictureThe screen lights and starts within a minute or two of power-on.
  2. The content playsEvery picture and video on the card or stick shows, in the order you set.
  3. It restarts by itselfSwitch it off at the wall and back on. It should come back to the content on its own.
  4. Nothing is loosePull gently on the screen: it does not move on its bracket, clamp or stand.
  5. Cables are safeNo cable is pinched, pulled tight or across a walkway.

If something is wrong

Quick fixes.

No picture

Check the power at the outlet, the connector at the unit and any power switch. Try a known working outlet.

The content does not start

Check the card or stick is fully inserted and the files are pictures (JPG, PNG) or MP4 video. Try a smaller test file.

The picture is the wrong way round

Rotation is a setting in the display. Set it once and the screen keeps it.

It does not sit level

Re-check the bracket with a level. On a stand, check the surface. Do not pack under a bracket; refit it.
