Questions
Straight answers.
Including what these screens cannot do.
Does it really work without internet?
That is what it is built for. The player loops images and MP4 from a microSD card or USB stick with no internet and keeps a copy in the unit's internal memory, so you can take the card out. A network is only needed if you choose to use sync or your own app.
Is there a subscription?
No. The IMD Signage Player has no subscription and no account. If you prefer a cloud service, your own CMS app can be installed instead.
What is the difference between Add to cart and a ready-to-play quote?
Add to cart buys the listed display as configured, and you load the free player software yourself: download it from the Player page, where the install steps are. For a unit we set up and test as a sign, with the player installed, rotation set and your content loaded, ask for a quote.
How long does it take?
Displays are built to order, about 2 weeks. We will confirm timing on your order.
Can it go outdoors?
No. The IP65 rating covers the front face only, and sunlight-readable is a brightness option, not an outdoor rating. Tell us about outdoor projects through the quote form.
Is it the thinnest option?
No, and we will not pretend. Units are 51.5 to 70 mm deep. The fix is the flush cut-out, which puts most of that depth behind the wall.
Is power included?
A DC terminal adapter is in the box. The AC adapter is sold separately, because many installs run from a low-voltage supply instead.
Does it support PoE?
No. Power comes from a 12 to 36 V DC supply.
What is the warranty?
Three years, parts and labor. Returns within 90 days of delivery on standard configurations.
What files can it play?
JPG, PNG or WebP images. Video in MP4, M4V or WebM, with H.264 MP4 the one we recommend, since H.265 and VP9 depend on the unit. PowerPoint, PDF, HEIC and GIF do not play: export slides as PNG or JPG first, or use our free card tool. The free content checker tests your files in your browser.
Where do I get the player software?
Download it free from the Player page or the Downloads page, with the install steps beside it. Version 1.0.0. Tested on the Android 12 emulator. Testing on a real unit is pending. If you would rather have it loaded for you, ask for a ready-to-play quote: we install and test it.
